Bosch 9mm drill bit for dowels.  Lip and spur drill to drill accurate hole for the dowels.  Needs to be used slowly or will drill a deeper hole than needed - hole should be 1.5x length of dowel.  Ideally needs a stop but we have not been able to source one suitable.  Could use an 8mm HSS but they tend to wander in the hole and are not ideal.
