Food grade wax to seal sawdust and dowel spawn in logs. This prevents pests and dehydration from destroying your spawn. This wax is the same wax used to coat Edam cheese. Unlike paraffin it's pliable and doesn't chip from the logs in winter frosts. I would prefer to use Bee's wax, however they seem to steal it back! 

I don't seal the ends of my logs, only the stumps of branches and inoculation holes.

 

100g should do six to ten half meter logs.
